Having Vision in your Career Path Building Your Future Now Even if you dont have experience or training or even the education, that shouldnt stop you from pursuing your dream career. In fact, if you are passionate and intent enough to achieve what you want there is absolutely no stopping you! However, there is an essential ingredient that you need; something that you need to add to your career path mixture to get things really going. That ingredient? Its vision. Vision is a powerful concept that when fully realized can help you overcome many hurtles. Vision reflects your dreams in reality; to have vision gives you a glimpse into the future to push yourself to the limits at the present time. What Vision do you have? If you dream big and think differently that is a tremendous boon for you. That means you have a different perspective in regards to many facets of life. However, think about the way you look at things. How and where do you see yourself in several years from now? What do you want to accomplish? What Vision to do you have for yourself in the career you are either in or what to seek? Sharing Your Vision Your Vision is how you see things in the future and in this case yourself in your chosen career. This is something that needs to be shared with others. Why? It can and will have a positive and meaningful impact for co-workers, friends, family and others you meet. Your Vision can inspire and provoke others to reflect on their own Vision! As author of a new book, Rookie Smarts: Why Learning Beats Knowing in the New Game of Work,Wiseman argues that in our rapidly changing workplace, experience can be a curse while inexperience can be a blessing. She says that through her research, she finds rookies often have a different mindset at work that makes them operate with higher levels of self-awareness and move faster than their experienced peers. Because of their inexperience, rookies are driven to ask questions of those with greater expertise. As a result, they often walk away withbetter solutions.A more experienced worker, she finds, is more likely to solve an issue on his own without seeking outside expertise or simply follow standard practices. Wiseman says that while some may consider rookies to be bumbling clods, the reality is that many rookies have nothing to lose so they are often open to new possibilities. They dont get bogged down in old practices. They are optimistic as they explore new territories, focus on doing things differently and dont worry about why they cant do something. Wiseman and her research team looked at nearly 400 workplace scenarios, noting how rookies took on work assignments compared to veteran workers. That enabled them to identify traits of successful and unsuccessful rookies and veterans. They found the distinct rookie smarts mindset included: The backpacker rookies who had a mindset unencumbered by past practices or experience.
